The Security Finance Transaction Regulation is a European regulation that aims to increase the transparency of securities financing transactions. These transactions include repurchase transactions, securities and commodity lending transactions, purchase and repurchase transactions as well as sale and repurchase transactions or Lombard transactions. Each of these trades and any change in such trades must be reported and recorded in a trade register. Both financial and non-financial counterparties are affected by the reporting obligation.
